A very cute origami project that is easy to make is a star box.
Fold paper in half on both diagonal axis. Crease well and unfold.
Fold both sides to the center. Crease well and unfold.
Fold the right or left corner in so it lines up with the center of the diamond, and then do the same to whichever corner you did not fold yet. Then flip the whole thing over and do the exact same thing on the other side.
Open up the top of the corner fold a little bit and flatten it down into a triangle shape. Do the same thing to the other corner and other side of the paper.
We now need to make a squash fold. Pry paper open then fold on the diagonal shown below.
Lift bottom flap up and over to the top. Press paper flat.
Fold the top layer down. Repeat Steps
Fold the left and right corners towards one another.
Fold the top flap upwards.
Fold where indicated below. Crease well and unfold.
Pry paper open and straighten the sides to complete your box.
